Looking at new notebook possibilites, both for myself and my brother who is about to enter college... does anyone have a reasonable timeframe for the release of a Centrino notebook from an OEM? Those prototypes in the review from IDF look pretty nice to me. I know that the 12th is the release date for Centrino... will anybody be launching a product soon after, or will we be waiting through the summer?

My sources at Dell tell me they'll be shipping new notebooks based on Centrino around the 12th of this month. It's hard to say if they'll be completely Centrino based laptops, but my gut feeling is they will be since it's Dell. OEM wise, they'll follow not too long after if they want to grab some of those early profits that are to be had with this new stuff. I'm anxiously awaiting to see what it will cost, I'm due to get a new computer at work later this year!
