Remove them and then use something to get rid of that gunk that is left behind.

Oh and if you have a rubber type covering over the chassis don't scrape too hard or you'll remove the rubber coating.

Whats so wrong with having them on there? I like to in some way preserve everything that came with what ever I bought, especially if its expensive.

Geez, the stickers on mine (Mobile Athlon 64, Windows XP, and Mobility Radeon 9600) are still there with no sign of coming off and I've had mine since July. Must be that eMachines quality, WTF brand is yours?
 
IBM Thinkpad t42 (october), the sticker isn't really comming off persay but the label ("Picture of Windows XP Icon and Centrino Icon") are comming off. I notice the come off when I'm typing with "wet/sweaty hands" And dont even think about it!
 
The stickers started coming off my old Inspiron 1100 after about a year or so... I just finished the job and took them off.
