Central Ohio's Highway Sniper

Anyone heard about or worried by the sniper of central ohio? I think that the sniper is up to 23 or 24 hits now... there was another one today. Most of them had been on 270 or 71 south of 270. Today's hit was on 70, near Pataskala. His range has now encompassed my ENTIRE route between home and work... and I admit I'm just a bit worried about it. I wasn't worried about it too much when it was just on 270 @ 23... heck, I even drove through there several times, as my grandma lived over there until she passed away last month.

But now that he has expanded so far is two directions, I'm much more worried. I'm seriously thinking about taking alternate routes everywhere I go now, to avoid the interstate... and I normally hop on the interstate no matter WHERE i'm going.

Thoughts?

you've got a better chance at getting in an unrelated serious car wreck on your way to work than getting hit by the sniper. don't worry too much about it.

i don't drive down there often but when i do i couldn't care less. if he hits me, thanks for the favor.
think about the volume of traffic through there and the number of hits. your chances aren't too good. if you don't feel safe, then take an alternate route. that simple:beer:

That idiot has got to live in the area. The Ohio State Troopers better get good Blood Hounds
on that wacko's trail.

I'd be mildly worried. Driving into L.A. at 9:00pm during our last riots was unsetteling and I
was pack'en,
going to work!:disgust:

This nimrod has it all wrong. He should have a .50BMG sniper rifle and be shooting out the blocks. Hitting a driver is hard. Incapacitating an engine is dead simple with a gun like that.

But then he'd be just a LITTLE conspicuous.

Something tells me that last one (further south from Columbus) was some copycat

What one further south? The one just down the road? I'm thinking Chillicothe or Circleville area? If that's the one, they have matched the bullett pattern to match the other shootings.

The one that happened yesterday (Saturday) was due east of Columbus.

I know that chances are 1 in 5 bazillion that absolutely nothing would happen if I travelled only the sniper's routes every minute of the day. However, there's still that nagging paranoia in the back of my mind. I have NO idea why, but this is bothering me... nothing else like this EVER has before.

Hrmmmm I thought they said a high powered rifle.

<edit>

I was mistaken. It does appear to be a handgun.

And the sound would give away his position in an instant. Not to mention the trouble of aquiring one, aquiring ammo, setting it up...just not very realistic. Though the Barret M82A1 is a bad ass to fire. Mmmm... .50cal.

I live in Grove City (about a mile away from the Timberlake Subdivision 71 overpass incident), work at OSU. At first I was concerned, then I figured my chances of getting killed by the sniper are less than getting in any sort of other serious accident. That doesn't excuse the sniper as irrelevant, just not worth changing my habits over.

I still hope the paranoia not only gets the sniper caught, but any and all copycats (wtf is with this black sports car handgun shooter going around?). I think there's going to be far more "punishment" handed to this a55hat than a court ruling.

There's been one near Chilli? Crap, I know people there.

(And my baby sister's going to school at OSU, but she doesn't use the freeway much.)

I think that's where the southern-most shooting was. Not 100% sure though. I know a lot of people down there too. Yeah... OSU students are safe if he stays on the freeways.

Mildly, although so many thousands drive by without problem that it would be no more than on my mind, I think.
