Hello everyone!

I have stumbled upon a pair of Infinity Alpha 50's locally..

Now I am struggling to find a center that would be easy to find/pair up with this set (Alpha's have been discontinued long ago, along with the Beta's)

I currently own Primus bookshelfs which have MMD drivers instead of CMMD on the Alpha 50.

Could I pair the PC350 with the Alpha 50?

yep... High-Frequency Driver3/4" (19mm) MMD®

It doesn't really matter since MMD is derived from our patented CMMD™ technology, Infinity's new Metal Matrix Diaphragms (MMD™) continue the Infinity tradition of using advanced materials to improve sonic accuracy. By adonizing both sides of an aluminum core, we're able to significantly improve cone performance and outperform cones made of traditional materials.

Or if you really worried you could get one off ebay like this one...

but if it were up to me I'd rather buy the PC350. Tho if you own a set of primus speakers already then you should know they sound good, so... So should a primus center right???

I just noticed the Alpha center can seemingly go down to 55Hz according to its specs, whereas the PC350 only can reach 80Hz... would this be a problem?

What I meant to say is, I am a little surprised the drivers (same size) in the Alpha can reach much lower than the drivers in PC350

No, As you probably already know the center is 90% for Voice audio in movies so I'm sure Infinity set the crossover for the speaker application even tho, they could have set it lower they feel it's not necessary, after all THX recommends 80hz as a set crossover point. Tho depending on your setup, some people like it higher and others like it lower...

Go figure.

Pretty sad that the company which made the Prelude MTS and Overture series now can't muster much even close to those. Their HQ is by where I live, I've thought about going over there and punching the CEO in the nose. I love my Overture 1s and my brother loves his 1s and 3s. Sad.
