Center speaker stands

Hi all,

I'm trying to come up with a better solution for my center speaker. I currently have it sitting in front of my Panny plasma on the tv stand but it's a little bit too tall - unless you're sitting straight up on the couch it tends to block the bottom of the screen. Does anyone make one of those stands that goes on the top of the tv but designed for flat panel tv's?

I thought about just mounting a shelf, but I rent and I'd rather not make the extra holes. I also thought about placing the tv on some sort of riser, but I don't know if I'm crafty enough to get it to match the tv stand without looking ugly.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks

BestBUy has a platform you can put ontop of flat-panels. IIRC it was $20....

if you're talking about less than 2" or so, put your TV on a stand (maybe just a 3/4" piece of mdf, the same colour as your stand). It isn't too difficult; I've built a couple and I'm certainly no carpenter.

Edit - if you're doing at least 1.5", you can make a stand with legs, and have a handy spot to stash remotes ad manuals out of sight.
