Center channel questions

So my front speakers consist of Polk R50s Text and the matching center channel seems to be this Polk CSR Text and it is almost as much as I spent on the front two floorstanders. Should I just pay up or use my existing Onkyo center channel and upgrade the Polks one day and then get a matching set (L/R/C)?

Do you already have the Polks setup with the Onkyo center? How does it sound to you? If it sounds ok, then leave it as is. The usual problem with doing that is that voices won't sound exactly the same from the fronts as they will from the center because of different speaker dynamics, but if you can't notice it, then its not a big problem.

I have only heard it with music and have not really critically listened to the music with the center channel.

You're right, I should put in a DVD tomorrow and see if I can hear any differences.
