Here's the issue...

The center channel of my Creative Speakers (5.1 Inspire 5300) only work when I have the Orange digital out from the sound card, disconnected to the Subwoofer/Center input on my speakers. If I were to connect the cable to my speakers, the center channel doesn't work - and if it does work it is very low in volume.

So the problem is, I can't get 5.1... i.e. the center channel to be independent of the right and left channels, instead of playing the same thing. Otherwise, the channel is too low to be heard.

I've made sure the windows setting is at 5.1, I've tried tweaking the software that came with my SB Audigy, but there seems to be no way to tweak the volume of the center speaker. Can anyone help?

The settings that You are looking for are in the "Creative Surround Mixer" under Speakers > Settings.

Just in case, You can't find the "Creative Surround Mixer" go to Start > Programs > Creative > Sound Blaster Audigy > Creative Surround Mixer... You also need a DVD or other Media that has 5.1 Speaker support.

tried the creative sound mixer... i still can't get the center channel working properly. it works, but doesn't provide a center channel... it only shoots out a combination of what the left and right speakers are playing.

Do You have AC3 Decode checked in "Creative Surround Mixer"?... Also, in the "Creative PlayCenter" there is a setting called "CMSS" that when it's enabled mimics 5.1- You need to disable it.

Too bad my PSU burned out :(... now I have to wait for the new PSU to come in before I can fix my speakers....
