It's going to transform politics in that the racist Tea Party will have to convert to being racist toward whites. Have fun whitey.

The whole Hispanic people not being counted as white confuses me, does it count for Spanish people as well?

Well maybe the USA should adopt China Policy and just abort all babies after the first one, or increase your tax rate based on the number of children you have. We could start by simply refusing to pay women to have babies. After all, the government does not force you to have babies.

Illegals may not even be counted in some instances. Or maybe the illegal minorities should not be counted and kicked out of the country, or refused citizenship due to their illegal status. This is a possible trend that may come up soon.

You could have more and get paid to do it.

I got must of my college paid for by pell grants.

With 4 kids I could have made close to $70,000 a year and still been eligible for grants.

Instead of standing there with my hand out for food stamps and other benefits, I went to college and worked a full time job.

I'll help you out. The whole confusion on this in general is due to not grasping the difference between using the word 'race' vs 'ethnicity'

race was originally inferred by skin color prior to this age. Black, White, Tan, etc as colors of the skin. However, some people (PhD's, people and professors alike) associate race with being Human, therefore there is only one race to them.

ethnicity is being part of the nation you are from, and you likely have blood/genetic lineage from it (being a native). Hispanic - Spain, Chinese - China, etc and so on.

People mix up usage of the two terms when conducting or reading statistics, especially the media. Hope that can clear it up a bit.

I wonder how many non-citizens were counted on the census? As I recall, you had to put a SSN for every person.

Actually its to do with the Atlantic language gap. Its has a different meaning in the US as opposed to Europe, which makes sense considering the demographics I suppose.

This is not news really. Its been known now for quite some time. There are a lot of factors I believe, but mainly its white women are being neglected mainly by their own. On this board in particular where many of the white guys want the women to wait till they are really beyond child bearing days to have children. So they are stuck with either turning to ther races or settling for 1 child late in age vs 2-3 because the white guys are to busy with everything else.

I don't really see a problem with this, but I know that some people here (e.g., InfoHawk/Baasha) who follow a white supremacist ideology will feel uncomfortable from this information.

I think that the biggest issue with this is that there is the possibility that some people who were born here and have ancestral roots for several generations in the US will de-integrate themselves from American society.

You've a point, I never considered how race and ethnicity are depicted outside the US. There was squabbling over the recent 2010 census due to the way the cultures were handled in the race poll of the survey.

From my past experience, generally the hispanics were associated as "White" in the past, until they changed White to "White non-hispanic", and now they dropped it completely and let the users fill it in.

98% of the next billion people on the planet will be among the poorest people, born in developing countries. Cue the right, 'who cares if they starve?'

I blame religion. What percent of the minorities are Catholic?

Really though, this was bound to happen and is the natural procession of events. I don't think it'll make too big of a difference in the end since the minorities are vastly different with different cultures. Hopefully the cream rises and we get mostly the best of what everyone brings in.

But you could have no job and be paid to have more children. That's how the system is set up. If you look at the statistics you would note that the household income of single mothers, especially of minorities, isn't sufficient to provide for those children. The answer is that they don't, rather the government does. Since the restraint of the necessity to provide is removed, this tactic is superior from a Darwinian perspective. In fact resources increase with offspring, something rather unique. The result is that your strategy as measured by evolutionary standards is inferior. The consequence is that those who only have they can afford will become fewer in proportion. The top predator in this scenario will force your progeny to have even less assuming adhere to the inferior breeding strategy you and I chose since increasing taxation removes their resources. It's a matter of finding the right ecological niche.

Ill probably have kids in my 30s

Honestly, there will be a baby boomer rush coming for white professional couples in the next 10 years. All of the people opting to work and finally settle into their careers are going to rush in for kids before its too late.

Probably 2-5% of my white friends have had kids and are in their 20s still. I can absolutely see around 70-80% having at least one kid in the next ten years.

Compare this to parents of lower income, not racially specific, who generally have kids at much younger ages.

Just what have you personally done? How many countries have you been to and helped rebuild out of your own funds? I hope it's at least one. BTW nice non sequitur. In this nation who set up a system which encourages single mothers to have more children than they can afford? Oh look it's the left. This is an area where your partisanship will not serve you well.

The writing's been on the wall for some time. This is just a continuation of the same phenomenon: white people are becoming a smaller and smaller proportion of the population. Anyway, people mix. We're moving towards a multi-racial society. The real issue is what culture we're moving towards.

Ill probably have kids in my 30s

Honestly, there will be a baby boomer rush coming for white professional couples in the next 10 years.

White professionals have been around for a long time and there hasn't been a "white professional baby boom" ever as far I can tell. Professionals tend to have less kids. The longer you wait, the more time there is for a divorce or for the biological clock to run out. And it's not like people who have kids earlier necessarily stop having kids later.

Well sense you're so selflessly radical, why not sell your computer and donate the proceeds to the peace corps?

As far as I've seen, white Spaniards can qualify as being grouped "Hispanic" in terms of affirmative action and the like. It's fairly absurd and demonstrates the problems of trying to categorize people in these arbitrary ways.

With that said the vast majority of "Hispanic" immigrants to the US have some indigenous blood so you can see why they may be considered non-white since the "white" category really means "pure white." Again, all these attempts to categorize people is silly and not useful for society.
