OK.. i just got my Cendyne DVDr which is a rebadged Pioneer DVT 104 drive... problem is that I can't burn DVD-R disks.. this is my system
Epox 8h7a w/ Athlon 1.33
256 Crucial DDR
1st IDE
40gig 7200 WD pri.
30gig 5200 Maxtor secon.
2nd:
40x LIteon burner or Aopen DVD drive (i tried both as pri)
CEndyne DVD-r drive
Windows XP Pro
I used RecordNOW 4.0 (demo version from website).. everything went fine including making an image of the original DVD disk...)
and it started to burn fine (I ONLY USE TDK 2x media) and it spits it out when it is around 8% done.
I also tried using Nero Express that came withe the drive... it also spits it out around 8-10%
Nero gave an error message saying "communication error"
RecordNOW gave some sector error at blah blah blah
Im mad now b/c those TDK disks cost about 2 bucks a piece...
Forgot the mention.. i updated the firmware on the drive from Pioneer site.. they said that it was mandatory or something.... if that is the problem, is there a way to DOWNGRADE the firmware?
Help guys.. i spend quite a bit of money on this baby to start recording DVDs.. it aint happening..
