for $59.99 it's good if it lasts a year for me. I can just throw it out if it breaks and buy a new one for $50 again next year. ;)

They also have the DVD drives and CD burners on clearance table as well.

Personally I wouldn't purchase one.

These things can't copy dual layer DVD's correct? those types of burners are not out yet? So then does backing upa movie take 2 dvds?
(I honestly mean backing up, I like having retail DVD's but I also want to protect my collection so I want to backup favorites that I watch alot)

Correct, dual layer burners do not exist. Generally, you can fit a DVD to 1 DVDR by eliminating extras and unnecessary audio streams and transcoding. Check out DVDShrink. It's freeware, easy to use and does the job.

you backup by compressing the video or removing the extras. Dual layers will be out soon in a few months

Thanks I think I am going to wait for dual layer burners. I really dont want to mess with editing anything.
