Cendyne 32x & 40x burner any good?

Can get one for $35 shipped and the other for $45 shipped. Are they good reliable drives?

The dude said this in his message:
40x is the LTR-40125s which is allegedly flashable to 48x.
32x is a Verbatim which is allegedly flashable to a LiteOn 32x.

If I got one which should I go for?

if u flash either to the 48x drive... there are many reports that it's a rahter loud drive. just an FYI. i would just get the 40x.

I flashed my 32 cendyne (lite on) from 32 to 40, and it wasn't much louder. Instead of being completely silent, it made a slight whir, that's all. Nothing to bitch about.

oops... let me clarify... i meant to 48x. some 32x drives are flashable to 48x too...

Well I ain't buying one to flash. I won't bother there. I am just wanting opinions on how reliable the drives are.

any other opinions? Just got offered a brand new Cendyne 32x rebagged Aopen for $30 shipped. These drives are common but are they reliable? Or does brand on burners matter much nowdays?

I currently have a cendyne burner, that was actually a rebaged verbatim, that is actually a rebadged Lite-on. I think you need to update that because the Verbatim drive by Cendyne ARE lite on's.

Mins currently at 48x 🙂
