Cellphones: do they prevent people from living in the present?

There's this one older lady who, whenever we go on our breaks, she's always by the side yakking away with one of her girlfriends without fail for about 30min. About what? Gibberish.

Sometimes people just want to enjoy their breaks with minimal noise. She's like a friggin speaker phone. One day I got annoyed and plugged my ears with orange noise reduction foam pieces just so I didn't have to listen to her crap.

She doesn't take her break with anybody else or socialize with anybody else there in the lunchroom, nor does she eat anything. Her job is to work the phones, yet she's on the phone every friggin' minute. Some of them just can't stop, lol.

The newest phones can access live video streaming, so you can watch tv while driving. What could be more real than that? 🙂

Lord knows, Americans aren't spending enough time sitting on their asses watching tv. Brilliant!

If my wife did that to me, I would calmly remove it from her hand and hang it up. Repeated violations would result in removal and confiscation of the battery.

Oh, and 3/10 on the rant. I really need to feel the rage, and it just wasn't there.

Well, I'd guilt it out of her if it were my wife.

If it was a date, I'd walk out.

No kidding, what about students who not only have their cell phones 'ring' during class, but actually answer the damn thing and have a conversation

I know some of you reading this right now fall into that category and guess what, your a friggin tool and have no respect for others 🙂

In college, I had a professor who, if that happened, wouldn't just kick you out of the room, he'd kick you out of the course

It's terrible, I agree. When I'm with other people and I get a call, I simply ask if I can call the person back later.

Someone should give him a medal.
