Cell providers with internet access

I am getting ready to jump over to another cell provider and was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. I am currently with Sprint, and with a cable I bought on Ebay for $20, I can hook up to my laptop and get online using the dialer program from Sprint. I am not paying any extra for this, thus it's probaly the only thing I like about Sprint.

I have searched around, but can't find anything similiar from the other cell companies like T-Mobile, Verizon. Do they offer such an option? I would ask a rep, but we don't have a dedicated store here, just CC, BB, and Sams.

I am going to swith on portability day so I would like to get as much research done and pick a carrier that has this if possible.

Thanks!

T-Mobile & Verizon both offer wireless nationwide internet access. I think they both run $80. You have to purchase a wireless NIC for your laptop, you can't just "plug your phone into the laptop".

Sprint is probably the best that's out there data wise. I hear Verizon just isn't as good (even though its similar technology) and GPRS is crap compared to CDMA2000 (Verizon and Sprint). You do know that Sprint will soon have real SMS like the other carriers right?

I am just so fed up with Sprint and their attitude towards existing customers. I know they all basically suck in this aspect, but at least with portability, I can switch with my numbers and take advantage of the new customer offers. I need a new phone bad, but I refuse to pay normal price if anything for one. Haven't yet so why should I start now? 😉
