if you find a cell phone, say a sprint pcs 8500 can you take it into any store and get it activated for you? or not?

activate it over the cell phone? i found the phone and it doens't have any battery power gotta recharge it but can i just take it in the shop and get a new plan w/sprint and get them to "re-activate" it i guess?

and to answer your question...
if you find it (its not yours) and its registered under another customers name... all they'll do when they try to activate your phone is confiscate it and call the cops.
if it is yours, you can goto any storefront which sells and activates phones, and they'll do it for you.
any stores means those that actually sell your model. (sprint PCS 8500)
