I've gotten the same thing from Amazon but I just laughed it off. When I was in Iraq we didnt have any cell reception so to me that's pointless. If anything they should just send calling cards so soldiers can call home when on base from a land line since those are pretty much everywhere on base.

wait, it's called Cell Phones for Soldiers, but instead of cell phones they buy/donate calling cards?

Why not just call it calling cards for soldiers?

Donated cell phones are sold to a company that recycles them. The money we receive from recycling cell phones is used to purchase calling cards that we send to troops in need.

This is a typical misleading charity.
"cellphonesforsoldiers" when the soldiers are not provided any cell phones.

I've argued with AT&T/Cingular that I should be able to donate my "roll-over" minutes to our men & women in the Armed Forces. I'm not gonna use them, so why not let them go to folks who could? I understand that they wouldn't be any good in Iraq, but we have a lot of wounded personel coming home that could put them to good use staying in touch with family. (personally, I wouldn't care if they used them to call "phone sex" numbers...as long as they could use them.
