Would cell phone from the 48 continuous state work in Hawaii ? Never been there... would like to bring my own instead of renting one. Thanks..

That would depend on which service and where in Hawaii you are, like anywhere else in the US. I can tell you that Verizon works fine in Wailea (on Maui)

Live in Hawai`i. All major services work here. All are about the same in coverage, there is no clear "better network." If you are visiting, then consult your network before you come to Hawai`i.
