Alright, here's the deal. I've been looking for a desktop charger for my Sanyo 8100(sprint phone) for a long time. Never really found one. Well, that phone broke and I got upgraded to the 8300. I find today while looking around again(I've been in need of a desktop charger since that's where i spent the majority of my day) that there is a desktop charger for the 8100. Now, I was able to use my 8100 charger on my 8300(the 8300 has two charger ports on the bottom and it's backwards compatiable with the old ones). I'm wondering if I go ahead and get the one for the 8100, if it will work with my 8300. Anyone have any experience with this?

Looking to get this before the end of the week.

Thanks!

Most of us dont like Sprint and most of us dont use Sanyo's.
I would try the Sanyo website.

On a related topic, I just noticed Nextel and Sprint finally merged.
(I only watch the news once a month, so forgive my ignorance)

How do people feel about the new service?

If the connector is the same it should be fine.

Cell phone companies actually have a knack for making chargers idiot proof. If it's not supposed to work with a phone, it won't fit. They also have a tendency to make chargers work from generation to generation, as it keeps production costs down. If the normal charger works, I don't see why another one, be it a car chager or whatever, wouldn't.

I take no responsibility for anything, though.

Speak for yourself, don't be an @$shat and speak for others. I switched from Verizon to Sprint 1.75 years ago and couldn't be happier. Better service in my area, unlimited data, MMS, and SMS all included with my plan, my 2mp camera phone (first in the US), and unlimited roaming.

EDIT: regarding the new service, the only changes thus far are plans and operations of the stores, since nextel's using iDEN and sprint's using CDMA, they can't just combine the networks. However, they did announce that they're building new CDMA towers on a coupel thousand of the nextel towers, so coverage should improve gradually. This isn't to say coverage is bad by any means right now, in fact, it's very good here in california.

To answer the OP's question, does the charger have a flat port that clicks into the data port on the phone or is it a round port? AFAIK, for the last couple years Sprint's standardized all the chargers on their phones such that all their phones include the round port. This way it doesn't matter what phone you have, the wall charger, car charger, etc will work. If it's the round port, it shouldn't matter which phone you use it on as long as it's a sprint phone. If it's the data port, I would venture to say the same b/c they're both sanyo's and sanyo's been pretty standard in their data cable port for years.

Thank you. I was starting to wonder if I was going to get an answer.

As far as Sprint Service...it's ok. I keep getting cell phones with weak reception though. But because I have warranty/insurance, I just take it back and get another and eveyrthing is super green again. I also switced from Verizon to Spring.

WAY BETTER.

However, I have come to like those motorola phones, and have debated gettin' off a family plan I'm on and gettin' my own service...However, I dont' know how good cingular and all those other compaies are...
