Cell phone store watching pirated movies while customer walks in

As you all know I work for a cell phone company. Basically my co-worker went to a little cell phone shop that recently opened up. When he walked in he was greeted by a projection on the wall of the movie Finding Nemo. Now as ALL of you know this movie hasn't been made into a DVD yet.

Anyhow, I probably could put money on the line that their entire computer system is pirated, including the operating system, MS Office etc etc.

WHY ARE BUSINESSES LIKE THIS ALLOWED TO STAY OPEN? The RIAA and the MPAA are going after KIDS going through college and shutting them down, but they can't shut these guys down?

WTF

When I worked at Gateway, we took adantage to our "busy" nights by using the store's high speed internet connections to download stuff ;) It was a different movie every night of the week ;)

Dude if they tried to go after a small fish like that they would be bankrupt ...the goverment concentrates on the pirates who are clinking out copies of MS Office for 5 cents/copy.

The only way "they" will "do something" about this stuff is if "they" are made aware of the abuses.

If you don't call and report the store, "they" will never know this store is breaking the law.

"They," in this case, would probably be the BSA, if you're wondering where to report them.

And I wouldn't give a second thought to reporting them. While the RIAA's tactics are misguided, this store is obviously breaking the law.

You don't know for sure it is pirated.
I have a friend who owns a LARGE chain ov video rental stores in NJ and he ALWAYS gets preview copies, sometimes even efore the movie is released in theaters. They are legit and from the distributors.

Still, even in that case, the store couldn't show those screeners in public / to the public. If the MPAA found out they would stop sending them the screeners and possibly other things.

In the case of the Cellphone store, even it they had a legit screener they shouldn't have been showing it on a screen in the general area of the customers.

Not that I care.

They were prolly watching it cuz they had nothing to do. I'm sure they weren't purposely showing it to lure in customers or what not.
It's wrong for them to be showing it in the public area but what if it's the only TV in the store ?

plus Nocturnal please don't tell me you don't have some Mp3's that you don't own or even programs you installed that you haven't purchased once in your life.

And the slide of moral awareness of right and wrong continues on ATOT as witnessed by the posts in this thread.

when was the last time you were in a cell phone store and saw videos for rent?

this isnt blockbuster we're talking about... it sounds like one of those hole-in-the-wall cell stores.

Finding Nemo is one of the best cartoons ever... :) That being said, I'd rat them out, then buy them out during the bankruptcy sell off.

we should rat you out as well, i'm pretty sure you have illegal mp3s and illegal programs.

why bother some mom and pop shop that are trying to get by like every other little store ?

are they redistributing it ?
