Okay, I'm in the market for a new cell phone and provider. it seems all the basic plans are about $40/mo. I get 25% off most providers through a work discount. What do you guys recommend? Here are the ones I get discounts from:

Verizon ($40 with unlimited nights/wk)
T-mobile ($30 for unlimited weekends, $40 for unlimited nights and weekends)
Sprint/Nextel ($30 with unlimited nights/wk)
Cingular ($40, no unlimited nights/wk)

I live in Seattle, but most of the time I'm talking to my family in MN. They're all on a T-mobile family plane (that I'm currently on but breaking off of). Can I change my number but stay on their plan? Other than that, Sprint and Verizon look good, but I hear bad things about Sprint.

Anyone have opinions on the service of the major providers? I'm too lazy to do my own research tonight.

go with sprint. sprint is very good, has awesome service, great coverage, and at the end of every year on your plan, you get to trade in your old phone for a new one. it's free to call anyone who's got sprint, also. oh, and if you go over in minutes, it's only $10 for every 100 minutes you're over.

If Cingular's coverage is good in your area, go with Cingular.

Rollover minutes, plus GSM so buy any phone you want on eBay = winner!

I left Verizon for Cingular after 6 years and couldnt be happier. I have the basic plan with texting. May not have unlimited nights and weekends but 5000 mins is plenty for me times 100.
