Does anyone know of a cell phone and plan for older people? I saw this thing called www.gojitterbug.com but dont really like it. Im looking for a pay as you go or a cheap monthly plan for older people that wont need a cell phone often, only in emergencies or stuck in traffic/bad weather or something like that. Does any company make a simple cell phone without a camera/mp3 player any more? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Like t-mobile or TRacPhones? Are they any good? Seems like you can get ripped off by those more than regular service plans.

Most prepaid phones come without the extras.

The phones themselves may be in-expensive or free depending on how much time is purchased upfront.

Depends on where you are.

I got a $60 phone from Alltel, 15 cents per minute. I will only use it for emergencies, so that was the best route for me. Cingular has something similar, but it was more per minute or there was a $2 per month fee, IIRC.

ok thank you for the input... ever had any experience with em?

One of my daughters had one for a couple of years.

It was handled through Sprint and worked fine.

Eventually, the phone was damaged by a little one and she figured out that based on usage; it was cheaper to get a phone and piggyback off Dad's family contract.
