Cell phone reception question

Hey guys,

Is there something I can buy that will get me reception in places that normally, you can't get reception. I was thinking of something like an external antenna hooked into a power source and a base...so like I can mount the antenna on the roof of my house, and get reception in my sub-basement or something. Currently, I find I'm underground an awful lot and would like to know if people call me...but no reception 20ft underground. Clear as a bell the moment I walk outdoors tho.

You can get a repeater. They cost over $600 though. I'll try and find a link.

crap. That costs WAY more than what I was thinking. I was hoping for someting like an extension to my cell antenna with a power boost. I know just getting a longer antenna does jack squat...prolly cuz the phone doesn't have enough power to push.

I wonder what would be required to build my own repeater tho...
I'm pretty fair at electronics and soldering 😀 ....

Possible new project!!!

You could just get a yagi antenna and connect it straight to your phone. Take a look. It only cost $90 dollars plus whatever the adapter costs. Not sure how well it works.
