Cell phone question

So I am looking to upgrade my phone, I have heard of a few positive experiences of members buying a phone from ebay and using that. I would like to get a sidekick, I know that with the sidekick you have to have a certain plan, my question is can I just buy the phone from ebay for cheaper and then upgrade my plan with my company?

EDIT: I already have a contract with T-mobile, I just want to upgrade my phone.

no. it's always cheaper to sign a new contract. amazon is one source of cheap phones. your local chinatown is another.

Of course you can, but you'd likely get a better price with T-Mobile than Ebay.

I've done really well replacing my phones on ebay over the years. I was really pleasantly surprised by the nokia 6061 I just bought.... but then again... I have low standards for cell phones 🙂
