Cell Phone Question....

Hey all,
I'm trying to come up with a solution to a slight problem. My girlfriend just sent her cellphone through the wash! I saved it after about 5 minutes in the wash, but I fear it may be too late. It's drying right now, we'll see what happens in the morning.

But here's my question: I see her exact phone on e-Bay for pretty cheap (~$25) including shipping. If I buy this phone, can I just insert her old SIM card (provided it's not dead from the wash) and have her service work fine? I thought I remember this working, but I'm not sure about it.

Her service is T-Mobile
Her cellphone is a Samsung SGH-E105

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if the sim is fine than you can use it. try using the sim in a different phone to see if it works or not.

I put it in mine, unfortunately I have Cingular, BUT I got a message saying "Phone Restricted" which I think means it recognized the SIM as a T-Mobile Sim?

Yep. Your phone is locked to Cingular.

Should mean the SIM is fine though. Get a friend with T-Mobile or an unlocked phone to give it a shot.

I'd be shocked if the SIM is dead. Those things are seriously durable. Any unlocked or T-Mobile GSM phone should be just fine.
