Cell phone question...

I've been shopping around for a new plan and was wondering if anyone here has done this or has any information on this...

My question is: If I want a phone that isn't offered (according to their websites, etc) can I purchase the phone on my own and have them activate it with their calling plan???

I'm going out this week to talk to providers about this, but I'm wondering if anyone on here has any information on this...

Please list provider, answer, and if no, reason given...

Thanks...

tmobile on the west coast, or atleast in california is GSM based. so the v400 would work fine here. 🙂
it all depends where you are and what network is used.

u can buy a phone thats not on the official websites like att.com/vzw.com/etc and activate it on 1 of their calling plans, but youre not gonna get as great of a deal/discount, if any at all. if u want a newer, cooler phone, you're better off buying it off the official site, thru one of amazon's deals, or even thru @ an indirect dealer in your city. these indirect dealers usually give the best deals, w/ u sometimes even getting money for buying a phone and signing up for service thru them.
