I have a cheap LG phone which is part of a verizon family phone plan I think. After some experimenting I noticed that 3 buttons require a bit of force to work, with the big one and the hardest one to use being the "end" as well as the power on/off key.

I'm wondering if there's a cheap or easy way to either replace the button or whatever makes the button responsive to touch....or if I might as well just get a new phone.

If you're handy with small electronics Google for your phone's disassembly instructions, it shouldn't be too complicated. Remove your keypad and give it good cleaning. If you don't want to take it apart you may try and use compressed air between the keyes. If none of these works just buy another phone. Verizon's Impulse pre-paid phones are cheap and you should be able to activate them on your regular account without signing a new contract.
