Cell Phone Plan Question

dxkj

Lifer
I have a great deal through work that I am switching to, it will save me money in just 6 months of usage, even when I have to pay the $175 x 2 lines fee from ATT.

The question is, can I burn them at their own game? I have 10 months left, and I could re-sign up for a 2 year contract, get 2 new phones, and then cancel my plan, paying the same disconnect fee I was going to have to anyway.

Hrm....

most likely they would treat each plan as a seperate contract and bust your balls for double the fees. they're are bastards like that.
unless they agree to replace the one plan with the 2 year contract.

That is how it works. They are all jonesed up about you setting another 2 year contract, but they dont double charge on breakage fees, i know that for sure.

Remember the good old days when you could get a free phone with a one-year plan.
I havent even seen a one-year plan from the big providers for a long time.

tmobile is still one year contract. i got a free razr v3 out of the deal by signing up to a family plan.

3 lines, one free razr, one free v66, and $100 back for using my old phone as for the 3rd line. i forgot to mention this was from those small cell phone shops.

yea, i used zaku's method to get my free t616 (back in the day), free nokia 6230 and free t637, all with 1 year contracts. using tmobile now and will port back to cingular once the year is over. so much for customer loyalty (that's what they get for giving new activations better deals).

so i say, port the number away if you can.
