Cell Phone Jammers

I've had it with cell phones or, more accurately, cell phone users. I've got idiots next to me in restaurants, in bathrooms, in movie theaters, everydamnwhere. Droning on and on about some inane BS, thinking all the world wants to hear. And now we are on the verge of having cell phones permitted in airplanes! Can you imagine being seated next to some obstinate moron on a cross country flight for five hours who has a need to chat on his cell phone for the duration??
I can't take it anymore!! A cell phone jammer is looking mighty fine. Has anyone used one? Know anything about the technology? I'm gettin' me one and it's gonna be fun!!

These should be installed in all movie theaters.
I read that some hotels overseas are using them on the sly to force patrons to use the hotels phone service...hehe

..jammers are out there..real big in Japan and other places. Just a matter of time before they show up here (US) on the black mkt.

I can see how cell phones are annoying in movie theaters, and other quiet places, but is someone talking on a cell phone that different then a person talking to someone else? For example if someone on a flight is talking to their neighbor, how is it any different then them tlaking to someone on the phone.

I would kick your ass if I saw you with a cell phone jammer. I keep mine on vibe all the time and I will walk away if I am in a public place before I answer the phone so I don't bother others.

 Yeah, I'm sure you'd give me a beating...nimrod, if you walk away there would be no need to jam your conversation.

If you're a good EE, get a surplus 'bag radio' and modify it. It isn't that hard. The problem is which band it will jam - you may have to create a couple of different devices to do the trick.

Just tell the person that you would appreciate it if they wouldn't do that.

Being polite goes a long way. Sometimes people need to make calls - when it gets too extreme just notify them that is bothering you. Do you really need to be an annoying little nerdy twat about it?

Yeah but if someone was standing right next to you, it will still jam everyone elses in the area.

🙂 Unfortunately, that is often what it takes to get someone to see another point of view. Try telling someone their loud phone conversation about his prostate exam is affecting your ability having a pleasant dinner. It's bound to lead to an ever bigger confrontation. Being polite doesn't go a long way, unfortunately.
