Cell phone getting no signal UPDATE Seems the battery's fried, too

Lately my cell phone has been getting no signal whatsoever in many areas that it used to be fine in, and in places where other Verizon customers around me are getting full-strength signals. Is it possible that just the antenna is going bad in my phone and it needs replaced?

EDIT: Now it seems my battery's fried, as well, charged it overnight last night and it was already dead a couple hours ago. Here is Kyocera's info on their one-year warranty. By the sounds of that page, there is no RMA process, you just take the phone to any service center. Would you agree?

Would they replace it for free under Kyocera's 1-year warranty? Or would I have to mail it straight to them for that?

I bought it September 4, 2004, so the 1-year warranty should still be good.

Well the closest service center is about 10 miles from my house. I'm calling but getting a busy signal. So before I drive all the way up there, would they do this antenna replacement under my 1-year warranty?

Got ahold of the service center, the guy didn't really seem sure about anything, he said if I just walk in the antenna's $10 and they don't charge for installation (I'm guessing it just go in quick and easy?), and if I wanted it covered by my warranty, I'd have to get the antenna straight from Kyocera.

Generally that's what happens with broken phones, take it back in, get it repaired / swapped for a new one.

I'll call the guy today. Yesterday when I called, when I thought I only needed an antenna, he said if I wanted it to be covered by Kyocera's warranty I'd have to order the antenna from them. Bullsh!t. It clearly says on their page to bring the phone with your receipt to a service center for repair. This guy better not give me any hassles.
