Cell Phone Etiquette

Are you annoyed when people talk on the cell phone in:
trains?
busses?
elevators?

I ask the question becasue I work and am busy from 7-7 during the day, and would like to use the time on the train to make calls occasionally. The calls i make from the train I keep < 1 min, and talk as quietly as possible. I would talk more but dont want to be rude/annoying to the other riders of the train...

are you annoyed by cell phone users in these places?

You're in public, so its not a big deal. If you were sitting in a restraunt with me and interrupted a conversation or business, I would be upset.

Its a fairly public places I mean is it rude to talk to other people on the train? Obviously there are places it is rude or unappropraite to talk on a cell phone but places like that I don't really have a problem with.

Also does just kinda OT Does everybody in friggin Dallas have to been on a cell phone while they are driving. I counted once from my 7 mile trip to work work I saw at least from what I could tell 63 people with cell phones and driving.

I wish NY trains were the same. Unless you are on the train on a very off peak time, it is usually loud enough that you can really only talk to the person next to you, and can barely hear them. The subways are even worse. Can't hear yourself while on them.

I don't care if they talk in low voices and their cell phone ringers aren't set to the latest top 50's song put to MIDI, and that they don't yap yap yap in loud, high-pitched girly voices, with the occasional squeal.

umm.. I am on the NY train.. I go from New Brunswick - NY-Penn Station, at peak hours m-f, no one talks to each other, the only noise is train noise.

eh, i find it annoying in public places but not enough to get worked up. i get pissed when they're talking really loud in a restraunt, though.

Trains or busses I don't mind, but I can't stand it when people do it in elevators. It's too tight of a space for people to be having a loud conversation on a phone.

It totally depends on how, and what, the person is talking about. Some people are annoying on cell phones no matter where they are doing it at.

I personally don't like talking on the phone in public, I think I look like an ass, so in a place like that when its all quiet and not many people are talking, a guy blabbing on a cell phone is totally out of place!
