I'd like to get a cell phone deal for relatively cheap. I live in Los Angeles and I do not need too many minutes, I'm not much of a talker when it comes to phones. The only thing that I would like is for it to work all throughout California and maybe also Las Vegas. Does anybody know of any good cell phone deals that covers all that? Thanks!

why not try the AT&T starter plan..

you get 60 minutes any time for $19.99 the phone is either $49.99 for the ericson or $80 for the nokia ($40 after rebates)

you dont get much fancy stuff.. but its worth for once in a blue moon calling

else go for the $29.99 deal with a nokia $80 ( $0 after rebates) and you get tonnes more.. plus 200 minutes and free voice mail and stuff... this is teh digital advantage plan.

Thanks for all the replies. My favorite phone is actually Nextel, but I think they have a different plan which I'm pretty sure is much more expensive. :(

what brand of phone do you like?
nokia - go with cingular
motorola - go with verizon
samsung, sanyo - go with sprintpcs
panasonic - go with at&t (the only reason is for the GD90 TDMA version)
no matter the deal, the plan, the price.

Stay away from cingular.. their service sucks..

Verizon and AT&T have the best service in california. Then nextel after that is cingular and lastly there is sprint.

Problem is sprint doesnt cover central california, whereas all others do in varying propotions.

Within los angeles the service is like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Nextel (owing to their lousy "looking for user" deal)
