I recently moved into an apartment in a big brick/steel building, surrounded by big brick/steel buildings with an office area in its center under the steel caged bedroom with steel stairs. When I'm sitting at my work desk, I can't get a proper voice/text message signal.

I was wondering if there was anything sensible out there that I could plug in near the window to fill the room with signal. I have WiFi, so I just need to boost the signal(s) associated with making calls and text messages. Verizon sells a 4G/LTE booster for like $250, which is way too much for what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know of such a device? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Does your phone not do wifi calling/text? If you use their Message app, it will allow you to do calling/texting from any device, not just your phone. At home, I do everything over wifi on my tablet for example.

Easiest and cheapest method is get a vzw phone that supports WiFi calling (dont think your s5 qualifies, but anything samsung s6, note5, etc and newer, iphone 6 and newer, few other newer LG, HTC).

I checked, my phone does actually support WiFi calling. I thought it cost extra, but apparently it doesn't. It seems to work pretty well. Thanks everyone.

Yes, glad VZW finally enabled that. My in-law's house is like the Bermuda Triangle when it comes to WiFi and cell service.

So far I've found it works well.
