Cell phone as modem?

Howdy!

I have both a Nokia 5190 and a 3390 and know the 5190 has a data cable so it acts as a soft modem. I have tried to use it, but
as soon as the ISP answers their phone, it hangs up. If I dial directly on the phone without the data cable attached, i get the normal screeching sounds of a modem communicating. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me on how to get it to work as it should.

3390 deffinetelywill not get you on the net. Your cell phone provider has to support the modem data. and I dont think its as simple as dialing into your ISP.
