cell phone and service for US and Europe?

Just wondering what the best phone and plan to get in the US that will also
work in Europe, without fail. I'll need to use the phone about 60% in the
US and the rest in Europe.

depends on where in Europe you are going to be in. Most companies have a contract with cell phone companies in some other countries so their service also works there.

A friend of mine was doing the same thing between the US and Europe... However, his bills were REALLY high. I would suggest getting two numbers and find a provider that maybe offers call forwarding or something. I guess, you need to evaluate which place you're in more often and then which one you get more calls in. If you get the phone in the US, all your European peeps will have to dial long distance...it'd be just the opposite for a European phone as well... So you'll probably need 2 phones. It'll be cheaper that way. You can always set your voicemail to one phone to let people know to call you on the other one too! 😉
