Cell numbers on resume - good or bad idea?

Now I would just include my home number but I'm rarely home and my indian and somewhat senile dad has the same name as I do...So we'd constantly have "which Sam??" conversations that would go on too long since he'd actually fight with me "No! They want to talk to me, not you!".. sigh.. Anyway, is it OK to just put my cell phone number on a resume or should I only give them my home phone number? Can I put both, with my cell # first?

I only had a cell number when I applied for jobs and it was all that was on my resume.

Worked out fine.

If the home and cell numbers were both yours then I would put both, since you share the home one and your dad may scare off potential employers with his ramblings...best to just put the cell I think, got answerphone service on it yeah?...make sure your OGM is professional sounding ;)

I have both my home number and my cell number on mine. I don't have a landline at my apartment, so I just use my cell. My resume lists my full name (my dad has the same name) and I assume any potential employers would be asking for me by that name and my dad would refer them to my cell. I hope. Heh.

Believe it or not *your name* isnt at home, please leave a message at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone, where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home!

Oh yeah, sing it!

I'd list the number you want them to call first on top. Since I only have a cell phone, I'd list it without any concerns.

it's a good idea..as long as they can reach you when they need to
there's no sense of giving your home number when you are not usually there.

I agree. And if a cellphone is all you have, then list it as your "home" number.
