i just bought a celeron2 600mhz and i'm trying to install it on my tekram LX PII/celeron motherboard with a slotket. will this work? i've got everything hooked up, but it doesn't seem like the motherboard wants to post (no beeps, no nothing). the voltage is auto-select, and it supports the voltage of the celeron2 (i checked). anyways if anyone knows a solution to this problem i'd really appreciate it, it's an xmas present. thanks guys.

Your motherboard only supports VRM8.3....which means it has no provisions for voltages as low as what the Celeron 2 requires.....that's why it's not booting. The motherboard can't provide that low a voltage.

What you CAN do, is set the slotket to 1.80 volts. This is the lowest voltage VRM8.3 supports...and it should boot at this setting. This voltage is perfectly fine for tolerance....and helps quite a bit if you want to overclock as well.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update for your board as well.
