Celeron laptops vs pentium M?

I'm going to buy a laptop in about a month for college. I dont need the most powerful laptop (mainly use it for school and programming) but I would like to be able to do some gaming on it. I've seen the laptops with 2.8Ghz Celerons. Then there are the ones with the Pentium M processor. Which ones will give me the best performance. Celerons are more of the "budget" low performance processor, but I'm not sure how much the high clock speeds improve performance. I've seen the Pentium M CPU's from 1.2-1.8Ghz.

What are the key features I should be looking for in a laptop?

Key features for a college laptop..

1 weight
2 battery life

I would recommend the Pentium M, as they are MUCH better than the celeron. They also give better battery life.

Also, the dothan was released lately (next generation of pentium M). Wait for a month before you purchase a laptop....if you can.

yup great advice in the above post...

if you want battery life settle on the pentium-M and not celeron-M or anything else

centrino packages offers lightweight and longer battery life

yup, just got a centrino laptop... i got a modular battery... now it last ALL day.... WOW been using it for ~4 hrs and still have 1 more to go

Got any links for info on the Dothan? I could wait about a month and by then I'll be very serious about buying.
