Celeron J1800 feeding a GPU?

My old Pentium D805 has no trouble feeding a Radeon 280X in Milkyway (haven't tried other projects on that box).

But POEM does run very slow on a different machine, in which I'm using PCI-E 1x slots for mulitple GPU usage. I suspect that to be the issue, the 1x slots, but haven't really looked into it, switched back to MW on that box instead. Adding RAM didn't help.

Not a very definitive answer is it? Sorry. 🙂

Totally depends on the application. You could probably get away with doing PrimeGrid PPS Sieve on an Nvidia card, for instance, but it would totally bottleneck an AMD card.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll look for something a bit more powerful, unless I can pick up a used NVIDIA card at a good price.
