Celeron II problems

Hi,

is it possible to blow up your celeron II by inserting it into a "old" ppga slotket for a couple of seconds ?
It does not boot that way, actually doesn't do anything, and after surfin a little I found out that this is normal behaviour, because the reset pins are changed between ppga & fcpga, to not feed your Celeron II with 2v core... Or something like that.

So far I have this sl4pb Celeron II 600 mhz, with old slotket : Doesn't work
Same cpu with new ASUS fcpga slotket, doesn't work either :'(

somebody please advise me.

Thanks
Boris

It might be; should the motherboard try to initialize the processor and feed it 2.0v core voltage, that might blow it (although I have seen Celeron IIs run with that much voltage before).

It was bought as pretested to run 1080 mhz at 1.95v
I have a very good cooler (which was on the cpu)
and it run for max 4-5 seconds

So I don't really believe that this is enough to blow up your core...
then again, I might be wrong 😛
