Looking for someone that sells a Celermine that will run at 100 mhz fsb at default voltage. The reason is I have motherboards that can be set at 66 or 100 and nothing in between. Any suggested sources (reliable) would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Get a slotket (MSI6905) that lets you change the voltages. Simple problem. they are like $12 (plus shipping) around the forsale forum new.

My appologies for a stupid question, but does it override the voltage the motherboard is capable of? I was always confused on how a card could change something the motherboard doesnt officially support.

yes. the motherboard reads the voltage settings off the cpu. the MSI6905 ($15) will override
that for motherboards except some ABIT's (which have bios voltage settings).

MY bf6 just crapped out, so i bought an EL CHEAPO (soyo @ overstock.com $38 shipped).

Had to manually set the voltage up, works great. rock solid. saved $50 off an abit

Some Adaptors "mask" the CPU voltage ID and you can set the voltage you want the mainboard to believe as default on the adaptor.
But you can't trick an Abit. In spite of presuming the set voltage as (default), it always starts with the intel-default 1.5V.
What is the board you are talking about GWN?

Edit: Typo :|

It would be good know what the board is because:

1) Not all older model Pentium III boards run Coppermine.
2) With current boards (which do run Coppermine) some of the older revisions don't properly run Coppermine, due to BIOS issues and voltage hardware issues (even with a proper slocket).

Well this is the info I have been given. These are 'test' boxes that were used at work and have been stipped of their parts. I have been told I can have them in the next week or so. Here is what they say they are and if anyone can tell me anymore about the board I would appreciate it. I looked at ECSUSA.com and cannot find this exact board.

ECS P6SE-ML Slot1

Thanks for all the input everyone!

Contact Elitegroup, you may get some info from them, but a quick look at their site shows no bios updates at all, just the original for the p6set-ml from a year ago. I doubt the board will support coppermines. You could download the manual, and see what processors are supported.

On the other hand, since they are free, take them all, sell 'em on that unmentionable online auction place, buy something you want with the $.
