Celeron D heat output?

I put together a system using a Celeron D 320 @2400. I'm running it fanless with the shroud of an Aerocool HT-101 removed. A PSU with a 120mm fan is the only fan in the computer. I've got good temps....about 31C idle, 42C wide open.

I wonder what temps others are seeing with this CPU? A search on this forum finds a bunch of bad-mouthing of Celerons, but that's not the info I'm looking for. Any useful temp info for this CPU appreciated...

I have 2.4D@ 3.8 about 112F under load and 99F with a Vantec Aeroflow and a TMD fan

Dunno the exact temperature, but my Deleron 320 runs a lot hotter. Of course it is also running at 3.6GHz. :D

Well thanks for the input.....I've built an ultra-quiet machine using this Celeron D. I wonder how much more heat output to expect if I went to say a P4 3.0. I just haven't found any reliable temperature comparison information between a Celeron D and other Intel chips....

I've had a bunch of Intel cpu's during the last years, and on my WC setup the CeleronD will run hotter than a P4C at same speed.

P4 2.4 M0 @ 2.4 = 25 idle and 26 full
P4 2.4 M0 @ 3.3 = 27 idle and 30 full

P4 3.0 30caps @ 3.0 = 28 idle and 31 full
P4 3.0 30caps @ 3.9 = 32 idle and 39 full

CeleronD 2.4 @ 2.4 = 25 idle and 27 full
CeleronD 2.4 @ 3.9 = 27 idle and 29 full

Prescott 3.0 @ 3.0 = 41 idle and 45 full
Prescott 3.0 @ 3.6 = 44 idle and 51 full

These temps were read with the asus probe software. So, take it as it comes, may not be the most acurate one. These are on a fairly expensive WC setup.

Hey that's what I wanted to hear! Looks like a CPU swap to a Northwood P4 would run in my system without heat problems. I'm using ASUS probe and Speedfan for temp readings.....they read the same. I put an external temp sensor in the center of the heatsink fins, and it reads 1C less than the on-board sensor. So the whole temp reading process is fairly accurate.

My P4 Northwood 2.8@3.2 ran about 86 Deg F idle and as much as 114 F under heavy load again I used the Vantec Aeroflow and a TMD fan in a well ventilated case
