I've got an older machine around my house, and I was going to add it to my LAN to play stuff such as starcraft, warcraft 2, age of empires, nothing even remotely 3D. Anyway, I was experementing with placing the CPU fan in a different place, and I kinda broke off a blade
So the tiny little fan is pretty much unusable now because of the noise. My question is this; If the processor i'm running is a socket 370, 400 MHz Celeron, could I run it safely with just the heatsink? the heatsink measures 2 inches in height. And if I were to get a 733 MHz celeron to replace the 400 MHz down the road, could it too be passively cooled?
EDIT: The only other fan in the entire case is the PSU fan, there are air holes in the side of the case, and the PSU draws some air current out.
