Compuwiz's post about his cDo Celerons doing >1.2GHz got me all excited. I was going to upgrade my c566 to a c900 and give it a whirl. Even at default of 900MHz its faster than the 850MHz maximum of this chip.

But it looks like local shops do not carry any Celerons these days. One of the shops has a Celeron 800 that they cannot sell because the Duron is so much less expensive. Imagine that, Celerons a dud for the price. Unfarking believable.

Anybody else running into this problem?

I believe it. You might try pricewatch, but you may overpay due to the duron issue you mentioned.

I don't know....I've been looking at 900 Celerons w/815E MBs going
for under $200. For the stability not a bad deal..........

Locally the deals run $150 for 900MHz Duron bundles.

The Duron is stable, too.

Durons are so cheap these days! I can see why the celly has a hard time competing.
