can anyone PLEASE help me find a cheap celeron 766 processor? Its a pain in the butt to find it online, and the only one i found was $47, i'm sure i could get it for cheaper though!

I see Directron has the 733, if you can live with that: link $33 plus s/h.

They're out of the 766 but as I said, they have the 733... or it looks like it to me, anyway, I can add it to the cart :confused:

You might post a WTB thread in For Sale/Trade, I bet you could get one that way.

i may be interested in this, does it have a 100 MHz bus?
also, is it a PPGA chip? according to my hardware specs i need a "coppermine" cpu, what the hell is that?!

Its just the core. Katmi = old slot stupid P3, coppermine = socket 370, Tualatin = newer socket 370 P3

It would REALLY help if you told us what mobo you have. You DONT want a Celly 733/766. They run on a 66 MHz FSB. If you go for a Coppermine Celeron, you want a 1.0 or 1.1 GHz. As in the other thread, you may be able to even run a 1.4 GHz Tuallatin Celeron, but I can't tell you without knowing what mobo you have.

Ok, you have an 810 Dell board. You need a Coppermine 66 MHz FSB FC-PGA Celeron. Yes, the C733 or C766 fit that spec.
