I have a gigabyte GA-6BXC mobo with a GA-6R7 daughter card. My new celeron 733 won't boot up, just a blank screen. The mobo has auto detect cpu voltage so voltage shouldn't be a problem should it? any ideas?

cheers

Kevin

EDIT: There is no post, beeps, or anything. It does everything it would do with no processor. The fans and drives all spin as usual.

Are you hearing any beeps when you turn it on?
Are the fans coming on at all?
what are the other specs of your computer?

You're going to have to be a bit more specific than that dude. Any beeps? Fans? Hard drive spins? Monitor no-signal screen? Lights on the case? etc... etc.. etc..

I just had this problem with my Duron 800. Your situation may not be the same, but it sounds similar. My fans and lights would come on, but nothing would output. My Smart LED system on the motherboard said processor initialization was the problem. From calling MSI and from what people on here told me, try the following:
If you have some other memory, try it in the board.
try reseating your graphics card, or try a new one (I used an old PCI card)
As soon as you turn on power(and I mean simultaneous with!) start hitting the insert key on your keyboard. This is what worked for me after a time, as it resets the BIOS back to its original settings. After that my system was (relatively) fine, and soon it was back to normal. I'd actually try the insert key trick first as its the easiest. Hope this helps.
