Celeron 667 FC-PGA for $19.90 at BA Fry's

I was at the Palo Alto Fry's today and they had Celeron 667s for $19.90 on closeout. They have 25 at PA. Generally, they will be the same price at all the BA Fry's . Fry's regularly closes out older processors. I'm still kicking myself for not buying the 1 GHz PIIIs for $47. Even when not on closeout, the older processors are pretty cheap. For example, I bought a refurb 1.33 Athlon from Newegg yesterday for $61. This same processor at Fry's was $69, cheaper than the cheapeast price on pricewatch. I'm thinking it'll be the next one to be closed out. Anyways, the PLU for the Cel 667 is 2852614. Just stop by or call any Fry's and they can tell you which store still has them in stock.

This could be pretty good for a beowulf cluster... just find some cheap motherboards for $40, spending maybe $600 and u get the equivelent of 6,667 standard Mhz for number crunching... better than you average 4-proc P4 cluster, which costs much, much more.

Oh man, I'd kick you myself for missing out on them !!! They sell for $142 currently and even if ... EVEN IF ... you sell at $40 off that price, you double your profit. 🙁 And they won't be hard to sell either, as I had a helluva time finding mine. Supply and demand, my friend. Anyhow, good deal ... too bad Fry's is the West Coast suck.
