Anyone know if this is a good overclocking CPU? Just got it from Onvia but no slotket yet to try it with!

Thanks.

I got two of them. Both do 950@1.70vlts.One on a bh6 is stable at 1.70 vlts and shows a cpu temp of 98f.The other one I have is on an abit bp6,it needs 1.75 to do 950,it too is at 96-98f.I have read here and elsewhere that these are "surely the new p3 cco stepping".Whatever, they hit 950 no sweat. With elcheapo pc100 ram,on some old bx boards.By the way both my cpu's came from onvia.Got them first part of last week. The one on the bh6 is on a abit slocket, the bp6 one is on a powerleap 370 adapter.I use motherboard monitor to see the temp, and I use rain2.0 to cool the cpu,its at 86f right now.It gets to 96f during game play.

Hi folks, I have the exact same chip and I could not get it to run
stable on a Soyo 6IZM zx chipset mb. It did boot up but froze in
Windows 98SE. I'm using an Abit Slocket III at 1.85 volts. Sorry
to bust your bubble.

To follow up my own post...

633 now running at 950mhz w/1.8v using standard intel fan/heat sink.

Been running Prime95 for 24+ hours now and no crash or error.

Heat sink only slightly warm.

I found with my Gorb fan the motherboard didn't seem to handle the extra current draw from the fan in conjunction with my MS USB based keyboard.

your power problem may be the supply itself. GORB's have tiny fans on them, which don't draw much. My duron which has a 6000rpm 1 inch thick fan doesn't dent my 250W power supply(intel approved hehe).

You may have a defective fan motor which could lead to ultimately burnout of the fan header! i've seen it happen before. Thank god i got an rma on the board.

Got a quality enlight ATX case w/250w power supply so I don't think it would be my PC's power supply. Perhaps the draw from the m/b is too much for the BH6 to handle though? USB Keyboard + Optical Intellimouse + Gorb = too much draw for the m/b to handle?
