Celeron 633 at 104 degrees. Is this hot?

I have a Celeron 633 at 950. I occasionally get blue screens. The Temperature is 104 degrees. Do I need better cooling. I am using the retail HSF.

if you're using a diode-reading mb, your temps are fine.

I am using an Abit BH6 with rev ss flash. I am using SiSoft Sandra to read the temperature.

What's wrong with a 40C Cpu Internal Diode temp? His instability in windows could be from a lack of voltage, not too high a temp.

For example, my p3-650E @982, 1.8V is running at 42C.

hope that 104 is in F, causeif thats in Celcius, i can just see the smoke now...

In that case, he might as well save a few bucks and get a taisol heatsink, which easily outperforms a gorb.

Thanks guys for the info. I will probably buy a GORB cause I still get a few blue screens. Anyone know where I can get on for pretty cheap. The Taisol's look nice but I think my power supply would be in the way!

the gorb is actually a bit taller than hte taisol cek733092 model heatsink.

i must be doing something wrong. my celery 633@997 only does 31c full load at 1.85 volts. anyone know if the msi sloket have an onboard thermal diode?

my celeron 633 does 950 at 1.75v and 47c under a full load (RC5, etc...)
I can get my celeron to run at 997 at 1.85v and 50c under a full load but then after about 30 mins it starts to get flaky and windows will crash

my motherboard that I am using is a Abit VH6 and max voltage on the board is 1.85v
Im going to try a gorb and see if that helps (using retail hs/fan now )

temp is fine if in f.your ram,is it pc66?Did you load os in an overclocked state?If yes to either,re/un do.

your temps are abnormally low. This is an issue with the soyo 6ba series of boards. They read internal diode, but something happens to the reading(they are often times compressed). It seems that you have one of the boards effected by this. Your chip is likely running at anywhere from 40-45C depending on your heatsink/case ambient temp.

P.S. The problem could be a faulty resistor that soyo had ordered, or any number of things. As far as I know, there is no way to fix it.
