Hi all, need help.

Old system: Abit bx6r2
Celeron 300a@450
pc100 ram

New system: same MB
Celeron 600 cCO SL4NX
Alpha PEP66
Abit Slotket!!!
Arctic Silver
Crucial PC133 cas2 ram

Problem: Upgraded the bios, no problem. Assembled the HSF, Arctic Silver, Celeron, Slotket; all went smoothly. Installed all new components, booted, and nothing. Black screen, no beep. I can hear the HD working ( barely over the Delta fan ), but no boot. Put in old 300a w/ the new ram, boots no problem. I believe I've tried every possible combination of FSB and Voltage in the soft menu and on the Slotket, same problem. Put 300a back in, boots no problem. I read that sometimes the Abit Slotket does not work well Abit motherboards, so I purchased an Asus slotket. Same problem.

Needless to say I'm PISSED !!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brian

I had that problem too. Try upping the voltage. Use your Abit slotkey and set the voltage to 'auto detect.' Hope this helps.

yes the cCO celerons need 1.7V default to get going so try setting that voltage on the slocket!

Don't know if this applies but I had the same problem when I removed my MSI slotket from my AbitBX6rev1. Reinstalled it, nothing. After removing it and reinstalling the slotket a second time it booted up fine. It hadn't been fully seated, even though it felt like it was.

Just a suggestion.

yup... i think it has something to do with your jumper settings on the slotket. set them (voltage and fsb) to be auto and try again? or else make sure the slotket is seated properly. do get the latest bios version as well.
