celeron 533 s370

hey all
I have a s370 celeron 533 on a Tyan S1854 MB (latest bios)
128 meg of pc100 ram.
Ordered the Gorb and paste
The retail box says the chip is 2.0v chip??
my motherboard has only four jumpers to adjust
go to http://www.tyan.com/support/html/j_tr_400.html
this gives a list of jumper setting..(i can't make heads or tails of this)
when my system boots( it's still running at 533)
it says celeron 533 66mhz/8.0 Dram clock 100mhz
this "clock" refers to the pc100 ram I assume.
I can't find any reference to adjusting the core voltage.
I kinda hoping to push 800mhz but I want to do this right.
Hope someone can help

is it a celeron one or two?? the celeron two is green. if it's not the c2 then you won't be able to overclock very far at all.

What you have is a PPGA Celeron. It isn't going to 800. What you want is A FCPGA Celeron AKA Celeron 533A or a 566.

I can't find any reference to adjusting the core voltage.

If you get a Slotket card like the Abit Slotket!!! you can adjust the voltage on the Slotket card.

yep ppga chip...so how far can i push it??

I believe that all PPGA Celeron CPUs have a default voltage of 2.0V. That's certainly the case with my C466. Both chips max out around 600 Mhz, so don't bother pushing it higher. But if you're going to try it out, don't go any higher than 2.3V and/or a temperature of about 46C. That's my personal maximum.

I bought a C533 in July to replace my dead C504A, that must be the worst hardware purchase decision I've made ever. I was out of the scene for 2 months so I didn't know better
The highest I got it was 600MHz(75MHz FSB) with a GlobalWin CPM-32 HSF from my old P200MMX. If you're REALLY lucky, and I do mean REALLY lucky, you might be able to hit 667 with an 83MHz FSB and a lot more cooling/voltage, but its highly unlikely.
I grew sick of it and got a C566 that is currently doing 875.5MHz.

Forget it. You scored for $14, but you can't do anything more with that chip. Your mobo only supports 66 (and 100/133) FSB so you're stuck at 533 (which isn't bad). You can change the voltage by the pin-taping method to 2.2 or 2.4 V but that would accomplish nothing since no amount of voltage is gonna get you to 100 FSB (800 MHz). The best you could hope for would be 75x8=600, but your motherboard doesn't support that setting.

By the way, your PC100 RAM is running at 100, which is normal for a Via motherboard, since the memory bus and the FSB can run at different speeds.
