ok i've decided to get a new processor. 450 mhz is not enough for me.

i wanted to get the one last week from buy.com but simply did not have the money at that time. so where's they best place you guys shop at? i'm hoping to get the processor under 120.

muchas gracias.

I have a retail 566 and it won't do 850 (100*8.5). Stay clear of these 566's if you must run at 100 Mhz fsb. It was cost about the same or a little more but go for the 533a's (fcpga).

the 533's from allstarshop looks good to me.

how long ago did you guys buy them? do you think i will get ones as stable as yours?

more importantly, how long did it take to have it delivered? any delays?

BTW, if i got the 533 with slotkey, which golden orb do i get?

thanks.

Spend the extra cash, get a tested one from the Forums very own Compuwiz. Send him a personal message he'll get back to you.

I haven't used him personally, but I plan to next week(payday). We have sent messages back and forth, quick response. Also, I believe he's an "elite" member here at the Forums. He wouldn't be "elite" if he was F* people. Just my take on it, it's nice to know he's tested the cpu before you get it.

I am running a celeron 633@1000mhz (9.5 x 105fsb), this thing flies!

got the chip for $160, the extra cash is worth the speed.

ingenue - you want the Thermal Take Golden Orb for FC-PGA processors, not the socketed version for SECC2 processors.

I just upgraded to 533a cel, and I'm running at 800 MHz, 1.68 v. Very stable and cool with my Soyo 6BA+III, MSI 6905 Master slocket, and gorb.

Got my 533 guaranteed to 800 from compuwiz and he was very fast, answered emails quickly, answered dumb questions politely and shipped when he said he would.
I haven't fully used the chip yet but have been running it at default voltage to 112mz for 896 with no problems whatsoever. Temp is cool and I just put a gorb on it but it didn't really need it at 1.54v and I have run UT with it.
I believe he tests them the hardest of the guys selling pretested.

Highly recommended and he was my first online purchase.
